Breast Enhancement

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, over 400,000 breast surgeries were performed in 2014. This accounts for close to 25 percent of all cosmetic surgery. The choice to have cosmetic breast enhancement surgery – whether it is an augmentation, a breast lift or a reduction is certainly a very personal one. Dr. Hobar’s guiding philosophy in breast surgery is characterized by three main elements.

  • Listen carefully to the patient. Understand her goals and desires.
  • Assess the patient’s frame, age, and expectations.
  • Recommend a surgery that is highly individualized and designed to create a beautiful, natural, safe and long-lasting result.

Tuberous or Tubular Breast Correction

Tuberous Breast Correction

Tuberous or tubular breast is oftentimes treated when the patient is still young, a minor. Sadly, this condition can cause a great deal of anxiety and self esteem issues in women when it goes untreated. Many women are not even aware that they have this particular problem. Tuberous breasts can manifest quite differently on different women, but they usually have some of these common characteristics. Many doctors lack the experience and technical expertise to rise to the challenge of correcting tuberous breasts. Dr. Hobar has a great deal of experience correcting tuberous breasts. He is often able to do this through augmentation alone, going through an incision in the underarm area that can easily hide the scar. With his philosophy of creating an individualized surgical plan that takes into account his patients expectations as well as his keen aesthetic eye for what is both very natural looking and beautiful, women often come in from out of town to have him do their tuberous breast surgery.

Breast Lift in Dallas

Breast lift In Dallas

In his plastic surgery practice in Dallas, Dr. Hobar carefully listens to his patient’s goals and expectations and then examines the size, shape and skin tone of their breasts before recommending surgery. As someone who specializes in creating very natural, individualized results, he avoids putting scars on the breast when possible. A breast lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure done while the patient is under general anesthesia to remove excess skin and tighten the surrounding tissue to create a breast with an improved shape and firmer feel. There are three types of incisions typically used. The goal is to remove excess skin from the breast, move the nipple-areolar complex higher on the breast mound and internally support the tissues to create a very natural, firmer and more shapely breast. If breast implants are also placed at the same time then the surgery is considered to be an augmentation with a lift, or an augmentation mastopexy. A keen aesthetic eye is critical to a successful breast lift result. Dr. Hobar is able to use his artistic and technical skill to create a natural, shapely and firm breast with breast lift surgery. The scars that result from the incisions he makes are well hidden in almost all types of bras, bathing suits and clothing. And with his thorough approach to scar care, you can be assured that your incisions will heal into the most appealing, inconspicuous scars that are possible.

Saline vs. Silicone Breast Implants

Saline vs Silicone

Saline Vs. Silicone? This is a question that everyone who considers breast augmentation must at least deliberate. Unfortunately, many women come into Dr. Hobar’s office with a great deal of misinformation that they have acquired over the years simply by being consumers that listen to marketing paid for by implant manufacturers and from listening to urban myths about the different qualities of saline vs. silicone implants. I offer both saline and silicone implants to my patients because I do not feel that one is clearly better or safer than the other. People get hung up on misconceptions about the implants when, in fact, what is far more important is how the surgeon does the surgery rather than the kind of implant used. Silicone implants have undergone far more scrutiny than most of the medical devices on the market today. If the evidence wasn’t overwhelmingly convincing that they are safe, they would have never have been approved again for use in elective breast surgery. Breast Implant Exchange

Breast Implant Exchange

Women have a myriad of possible reasons for coming to see Dr. Hobar for a breast implant exchange. His extensive experience with various types of implants – and his lack of bias for any one implant – make him an excellent choice for performing your breast surgery. Breast implant exchange surgery is an operation done under general anesthesia to remove an existing pair of implants (or perhaps a single implant in the scenario of breast asymmetry) and replace those implants with a new pair of implants. It is not uncommon to do this in conjunction with a breast lift, which removes excess skin from the breast. Learn more about if you are a good candidate, how the procedure is performed, the recovery process, and why you should choose Dr. Hobar for your breast implant exchange.

Breast Augmentation with a Lift

Breast Augmentation with a lift

Women come to Dr. Hobar’s plastic surgery practice in Dallas because they want the advice and expertise of a board certified cosmetic surgeon with over 19 years of clinical experience. Dr. Hobar is very well known for creating a beautiful result that is both natural and enduring. While having a breast augmentation with a lift won’t guarantee that your breasts will remain firm, full and lifted as you continue to age, it can definitely ensure that your clock will be reset. Having the surgery done now can allow you to regain a youthful, feminine shape to your breasts so that your starting point has really been set back by decades. There are both saline and silicone implants that can be used for this surgery and thus an implant is selected after a thorough discussion of which one would be a more appropriate fit for the patient’s goals. Dr. Hobar’s overriding philosophy is that it typically should not matter which implant is used, both saline and silicone are excellent choices. What is critically important is the surgeon’s skill and expertise.
