Dr. P. Craig Hobar & Staff
Dr. Hobar's office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Our

Plastic Surgery Institute is on call should assistance be needed at any time. We have
specially prepared before and after books as well as other educational information for

Hobar to re-draw the body of facial features in consideration, approximating the patient's
post surgical appearance.
Outpatient procedures are performed at the
Dallas Day Surgery Center located on the fifth floor of
the Tom Landry Center. The Landry Hotel, which is located on the same floor as the Dallas
Day Surgery Center, provides luxurious hotel rooms staffed by nurses. It is available to
our patients should they decide to stay overnight after a procedure.

P. Craig Hobar, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Craig Hobar received his medical
degree from the University of Miami in 1982. After graduating, he spent 8 additional years
training for his current practice: 5 years in general surgery and 2 years in plastic
surgery at U.T. Southwestern Medical Center, followed by an additional year of
craniofacial surgery at New York University Medical Center.
Dr. Hobar currently divides his
practice between reconstructive surgery, done mostly on children born with facial
deformities, and adult cosmetic surgery. "The balance gives me a challenging,
rewarding practice. They complement each other so well. There is no way I could be as good
a cosmetic surgeon without an in-depth knowledge of the underlying facial and skeletal
anatomy. And there is no way I could be as good a reconstructive surgeon without
meticulous attention to the aesthetic features. The satisfaction gained from
reconstructing a facial deformity in a child is unbelievable. The ability to improve the
appearance of an aesthetic problem in an adult is also greatly rewarding. They both have
the potential to improve quality of life."
Dr. Hobar is a founder of the Dallas
Plastic Surgery Institute where he conducts his private practice. In addition, Dr. Hobar
is a clinical teacher at Southwestern Medical Center. He is Director of the Craniofacial
Fellowship program where he trains other physicians from around the world in craniofacial
surgery. He is also Head of Craniofacial Plastic Surgery at Children's Medical Center in
Dallas, Texas.
As the author of numerous scientific
articles and textbook chapters on plastic surgery topics, Dr. Hobar is a recognized
national leader in education and research in plastic surgery. He is a member of
approximately 12 medical societies, a fellow of The American College of Surgeons, and
board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of
Surgery. Back to Top
