FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q.  What type of cosmetic procedures do you perform?

A.
  • Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift, Breast Reduction, Implant Exchange
  • Liposuction - Ultrasonic, Tumescent, Traditional
  • Body Contouring - Tummy Tuck, excess skin removal
  • Facelift
  • Cheek (Midface) Lift
  • Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
  • Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)
  • Chin Surgery (Osteotomy, Implant)
  • Laser Surgery
  • Endoscopic Surgery

Q.   Are you board certified?

A.   Yes. Many people don't realize the training a plastic surgeon goes through. After medical school, I completed a full five-year residency in general surgery followed by a two-year residency in plastic surgery and a one-year fellowship in craniofacial surgery - that's 12 years of school and training after college. Twelve years of endless nights in the hospital, meager pay, and a never-ending workload. Was it worth it? Yes! - every second of it. I have a career that's both meaningful and fulfilling. I get to help people, generally make them happy, and get paid for it. To get back to the question - I am board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery - remember that name and ask your surgeon if he is certified by it. Or visit plastic surgery network and search for the Doctor's name in their directory, as they list only board certified surgeons.

Q. Do you use the latest techniques and advances?

A.   I am privileged to be in partnership with five other board certified, highly qualified plastic surgeons. We not only have our private practices, but we are responsible for running the residency training program in plastic surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Our personal philosophy is that we will provide only the highest quality, safest and most effective plastic surgery procedures. We hold each other accountable to these principles, as does our obligation to training future plastic surgeons. As a group of eight, we have considerable economy of scale - which allows us to have a state-of-the-art day surgery center, as well as the latest in equipment and instruments that would be prohibitive if we were practicing as individuals. Our university affiliation puts us in a leadership role. We have helped educate practicing plastic surgeons around the country in laser surgery, endoscopic surgery, ultrasonic liposuction, as well as in numerous other cosmetic procedures.

Q. How much do the procedures cost?

A.   A very good question. While I do not think a publicly accessed site such as this should publish that information (I don't know why, I just do - in medicine we are still far behind the real world in a business sense). I will tell you that there are 3 to 4 components to a price:

  1. Surgeon's fee

  2. Operating Room fee

  3. Anesthesia fee

  4. and if applicable, Implant fee
